Mission Statement

The Board of Management of the Ardee Day Care Centre recognises that every human being regardless of advancing years or disability has a unique contribution to make to the betterment of society. The Board, therefore, commits itself to create the right environment where people can come to terms with their disabilities and where the necessary aid is available to help to live their lives a full members of the community.

To help achieve these aims we have a beautiful centre with a very friendly atmosphere and lovely surroundings in the heart of the town beside shops and supermarkets post office and banks.
Our very dedicated staff do all they can to assist clients in getting the most out of their time in the centre by providing a full and varied stimulating programme of activities. Voluntary and professional instructors are on hand to assist. Clients also enjoy numerous shopping and social outing.

 

Ardee Day Care Centre is situated at the Church Hill Ardee. The venue is centrally located next door to the clinic and within a short distance of all the local amenties-shops, banks, post office, churches, library etc.

What is the catchment area of the Centre?

Ardee Day Care Centre serves an area within a ten mile radius of the town with transport provided to and from the Centre.

How do I attend?

Normally an application for attendance is made through your Public Health Nurse. If this is not possible you can contact the Centre Manager. After your application is processed you will be allocated suitable times for attending the Centre. Those availing of our service for the Aged must be over 65 years of age.

History

Ardee Day Care Centre developed out of finding of a survey by Junior Chamber into the needs of elderly people in the Ardee and Mid Louth area.

The concept of the Centre was extended to include provision of services to people with a physical disability and people with intellectual disability. Building work began in  1983 and the complex was officially opened on June 4th 1985.
